EUDR - Postponement almost decided
The planned postponement of the introduction of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has cleared another major hurdle, but still needs to be formally confirmed.
Yesterday, the European Parliament approved the one-year postponement of the EUDR. At the same time, the European Commission was tasked with presenting a review of the requirements by 30 April 2026 and providing the necessary IT support.
In addition, a new motion was endorsed to exempt printed products from the requirements of the EUDR. This amendment would be extremely beneficial for our customers. However, this decision means that the proposal must now go through the formal consultation process in the Commission and Parliament once again – with the risk that the outcome could change again in a subsequent vote.
Due to the current postponement, we will not be running the EUDR courses at the Printplus Academy for the time being. If you have already registered for the ‘EUDR Simplify’ or ‘EUDR with printplus druck’ course, your registration will be automatically cancelled.
